2018 Honda HR-V Exterior
The HR-V won’t turn every head it passes, but its handsome styling is enough to keep it from blending into the background.
What’s New for 2018?
The debate over the 2017 HR-V’s exterior styling—some find it charming, others find it boring—rages on for 2018 with very few changes to the little ute’s look. A new paint color, Aegean Blue Metallic, and a new wheel design for EX and EX-L models are the only updates to the HR-V for 2018.
2017 Honda HR-V
Even though the HR-V is the longest crossover in this comparison, it never feels like a large car, especially from behind the wheel. It’s as easy to park as the shorter Kia Soul, and although it has as much ground clearance as the Jeep Renegade, it feels more carlike from the driver’s seat, thanks to its seating height.

Exterior Features
If the HR-V’s exterior styling reminds you of the Honda Fit, that’s no mistake. The two share their platform, their innovative Magic Seat, and a strong family resemblance. The HR-V’s sloping roofline and sharply curved side contours give it a sporty profile. EX and EX-L Navi trims feature a tilting-and-sliding sunroof over the front seat, and Honda offers a list of practical add-ons, including roof-rack crossbars and a rooftop bike carrier.
