  • The 2020 Hyundai Sonata has a starting price of $24,330 for the base SE model.

  • Pricing will top off at $34,230 for the fully loaded Limited model, which is equipped with a 180-hp turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four.

Hyundai is one of the few automakers still focusing on releasing jaw-dropping sedans at a cheaper price than its competitors. The company has announced that pricing for the refreshed 2020 Sonata will start at $24,330. That's $470 cheaper than the base-model 2020 Honda Accord, and $920 cheaper than the base-model 2020 Toyota Camry.

That entry price is for the SE model, while the SEL will start at $26,430. The top-level, fully-loaded Limited model will start at $34,230, more expensive than the sporty Camry TRD but below the top-end Camry XSE V-6, which costs $35,955. The Sonata's SE and SEL trim levels will be powered by a new, more powerful 191-hp 2.5-liter inline-four, and the SEL Plus and Limited will be powered by a 180-hp turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-four.

The entry-level Sonata SE comes standard with several new features including an 8.0-inch LCD screen, forward automated emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist. The SEL, one step up, adds 17-inch wheels, a 4.2-inch LCD instrument cluster, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert and collision avoidance.

Hyundai says the entry-level Sonatas will arrive at dealers later this month, and the higher-end models, including the Limited, will arrive in the next few months.
