2021 Ram TRX infotainment and Performance Pages demonstration

JEREMY KORZENIEWSKI: Hello, this is Jeremy Korzeniewski and we are sitting in a brand new RAM TRX pickup truck. TRX or T-Rex, if you'd rather-- obviously, it's a play on words to take on the Ford Raptor. And it does so with significantly more power than the Ford-- 702 horsepower in this case. And it feels like every bit of that from behind the wheel. But instead of talking about the performance right now, at least directly, we're going to indirectly look at some performance options.

In the infotainment system in the center screen, right now, you can see that this as the large vertically-oriented touch screen system, Uconnect system. It's a beautiful screen. Absolutely love it. Works really well.

Going to take us to the home-- home page here. And I've pulled up already, as you can see here, the TRX option, which you can get to through the apps here. I had already clicked on that. So now you can see there's different options here. Sport Mode, Tow Mode, Snow, Auto, a custom one that you set yourself, Mud, Sand, Rock, Rock.

Oh yeah, you have to be in four wheel drive loaded to do Rock, but trust me, that does work. And Baja. Baja is very fun on the off road courses, high speed ones. Had a lot of fun with that. I'll go and put it back into auto. But I also wanted to show you the performance pages. You'll see it does take-- it takes a little bit of time to move into the performance pages screen. This is despite the fact that Chrysler's latest Uconnect system-- Fiat Chrysler's latest Uconnect system that's used in the RAM here, is generally pretty speedy. But there's a lot of processing needed for these process-- excuse me, performance pages as you can see right now.

Right now, we've got it on a screen that shows how much power we're making. Rev the engine a little bit. Obviously, this is the big 6.2 liter supercharged Hemi V8. You hopefully can see the graph here. Starts at 200 horsepower, 400, 600, 800. You're never going to quite hit 800, as this is not a Demon. But you're going to get up near there in between that 600, 700 horse-- or excuse me, 600, 800 horsepower mark. And that is pretty fun to watch. So fun little thing there.

You can also go through the various screens here. The dashboard shows you a bunch of extra gauges. Timers is exactly what it sounds like. If you're actually setting, like, lap times, trying to do your 0 to 60s, and all that kind of stuff. The best one we've recorded and this particular test is 4.3 seconds to 60 and 10.7 seconds to 100. And don't worry-- those were done in closed courses. Nothing illegal.

Here, you can see our very best quarter mile time was 12.7 seconds at 96 miles an hour. We took it to a dirt course, too. And we were able to get very, very good numbers in the dirt with using launch control. And we weren't able to get 4.3 seconds, but we were able to get right around 5 seconds, as you can see still recorded there. So very impressive performance.

There's obviously other-- other things here. The G-Force monitor is pretty interesting. It keeps track of what your peaks are. And then the instant-- the pitch and roll are exactly what they sound. We got the roll up to 19 degrees, which feels like a lot when you're up on a big dirt mound. And yeah, it's a fun way to kind of monitor what's happening with your vehicle. The wheel articulation is a fun one when you're off road.

So performance page is something that we think TRX owners are probably going to have a lot of fun playing with. So we wanted to give you a quick overview of them. Thanks for watching.
