Most car buyers have agreed: cars are out, and crossovers and SUVs are in. Throwing its hat in the flood of crossover and SUV demand, the folks at Alfa Romeo launched the Stelvio for the 2017 model year. Sharing a platform with the Giulia sedan, this Italian people mover is a quintessential crossover. Leaning into the company’s heritage, the team at Alfa affixed a modern Alfa Romeo grille to the Stelvio’s front end and topped it off with the iconic Alfa badge. Under the hood, Alfa offers a 2.0-liter I4 that makes 280 hp or the 2.9-liter V6 in Quadrifoglio trim that makes 505 hp. The 8-speed automatic transmission sends that power to either the rear wheels or all four depending on how yours is optioned.

On this episode of Quick Spin, Executive Editor Tom Murphy hops behind the wheel of a 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Lusso, takes you on a guided tour of this crossover, and highlights its styling and features before taking you along on a live drive review. Adding to the show, Murphy chats with host Wesley Wren about this Alfa Romeo’s details, the Stelvio’s sales numbers, and how they compare to the competition in the luxury crossover segment. Closing the show, the pair breakdown what makes the 2023 Alfa Romeo Stelvio special.
