Most car buyers have agreed: cars are out, and crossovers and SUVs are in. Throwing its hat in the flood of crossover and SUV demand, the folks at Alfa Romeo launched the Stelvio for the 2017 model year. Sharing a platform with the Giulia sedan, this Italian people mover is a quintessential crossover. Leaning into the company’s heritage, the team at Alfa affixed a modern Alfa Romeo grille to the Stelvio’s front end and topped it off with the iconic Alfa badge. Under the hood, Alfa offers a 2.0-liter I4 that makes 280 hp or the 2.9-liter V6 in Quadrifoglio trim that makes 505 hp. The 8-speed automatic transmission sends that power to either the rear wheels or all four depending on how yours is optioned.
