Yahoo Autos 2023 Genesis Electrified G80 Starts at $80,920
The 2023 Genesis Electrified G80 sedan has a starting price of $80,920.
The G80 EV is currently sold in 15 states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.
The Electrified G80 is only offered with a 365-hp dual-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain.
UPDATE 3/16/2023: Genesis today announced three new U.S. states where customers can buy its three EV models. The GV60 SUV, the Electrified GV70 SUV, and the Electrified G80 sedan are all now offered in Louisiana, Texas, and Wisconsin along with the 12 other states they were previously sold in. That now makes Genesis' EVs available in 15 total states.
UPDATE 11/14/2022: Genesis today announced the 2023 Electrified G80 will be offered in four more states: Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Virginia. That makes the EV sedan available in 12 states.
Genesis has introduced an electric version of the G80 sedan, but the two look so similar it may be hard to distinguish which one runs on gas and which one runs on electrons. However, now that the company has released pricing for the 2023 Genesis Electrified G80, it can be identified by its $80,920 price tag, which is about $10k more than the priciest gas-fed G80.
As with some other new electric cars, the Electrified G80 isn't sold in every state. It's currently available in 12 states: Arizona, California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, Utah, Virginia, and Washington.
Although the 2023 Electrified G80 will be sold in those states, it's only available at select dealerships. For actual availability, Genesis suggests that shoppers contact their local dealer. The same applies to the GV60 electric SUV, which will also be sold in select states but could have limited availability.
The Electrified G80 comes exclusively with a 365-hp dual-motor, all-wheel-drive powertrain. We recently tested one that hit 60 mph in 4.1 seconds. Not only were we impressed by its quickness, but we also lauded its quiet cabin and range. While the electric G80's EPA-rated range isn't yet available, Genesis estimates it'll go 282 miles on a full charge. The one we tested went 280 miles on our 75-mph highway test.
