The Genesis luxury brand spun off in 2015 from the Genesis models that were originally part of Hyundai’s lineup. Kicking the brand off, the company launched the G90, a full-size luxury sedan aimed at giving customers the feeling of opulence without breaking the bank. Genesis launched its G90 as a 2017 model—about the time sedans were losing their foothold.

Despite crossovers and SUVs taking more and more market share from sedans, Genesis saw enough value in its G90 to give it a second generation. The new G90 ditches the 5.0-liter V8, with only a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 underhood. The folks at Genesis tossed on an electronic supercharger for its top model, which sends 409 hp and 405 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission to the wheels.
