The original Wagoneer has become one of the most loved nameplates of the Jeep empire. While maybe not as attached to Jeep’s heritage as the CJ or Wrangler, the Wagoneer and the Grand Wagoneer helped establish the idea of a sport-utility vehicle in the minds of American consumers. Advertised as a luxurious way to get anywhere, the Grand Wagoneer has since become a hot collector’s item. Adding to the Grand Wagoneer’s lore is its death. Both Grand and standard Wagoneers were replaced by Cherokee nameplates that helped move Jeep along from its AMC days.

In recent years, Jeep has revived both the Grand Wagoneer and the Wagoneer, and they are picking up where both models left off. The flagship of the Jeep brand, the Grand Wagoneer L takes the standard Grand Wagoneer and stretches its shell by a foot.
