2024 Acura Integra Type S Tops the Civic Type RAcura
  • The 2024 Acura Integra Type S sends 320 hp to the front wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.

  • Acura’s newest sport sedan with three-way exhaust will be built exclusively at the Marysville, Ohio, factory.

  • Acura says the Integra Type S will go on sale this June.

The latest Honda Civic Type R is a stick-shifted hot hatch with enough attitude and power to fit its style. What could be better than that? Well, Acura might have the answer. The Acura Integra Type S is here, with more power than the Civic Type R and posh interior accommodations. The Integra Type S packs a turbocharged 2.0-liter I4 under the hood that feeds power through a six-speed manual transmission to the front wheels.

That turbocharged four-cylinder is basically the same K20C1 engine you’ll see in the Civic Type R. That shouldn’t be a huge surprise considering that the Integra is still based on Honda’s Civic. Though, in Integra trim, this 2.0-liter engine makes 320 hp, which is a 5-hp jump over the Civic. This turbo-four breathes through what Acura calls a new high-flow exhaust system, which could be part of the Integra’s power bump over the Civic Type R.
