Just when we thought the RS6 Avant and RS7 couldn't get any cooler, Audi has just unleashed a new variant called the Bronze Edition. It comes complete in a wonderful deep black paint job and gold wheels, along with a higher top speed and a handful of standard extras.

The RS6 and RS7 Bronze Editions are based on the new Performance trim, which means 621 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque from the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 thanks to bigger turbos and more boost. There's also a new center differential that's smaller and lighter than before, plus new 22-inch wheels that save 11 pounds per corner wrapped in sticky Continental Contact Sport 7 summer tires.

The Bronze Edition cars are available only in Sebring Black crystal effect paint, paired to "motorsport-inspired" matte neodymium gold five-spoke wheels. There are also black-painted calipers, gloss carbon exterior trim, an Audi exclusive Valcona leather package with bronze contrast stitching, and a synthetic suede headliner. Upgrades that come as standard include a bang & Olfusen sound system, a sport exhaust system with black tips, and a Dynamic Ride Control, which replaces the air suspension with three-way adjustable hydraulic dampers and steel springs. Bronze Edition cars also get a 174-mph electronic speed limiter, up from 155 mph.

Audi says it plans to sell just 125 Bronze Edition cars in the U.S., split between 75 RS6 Avants and 50 RS7s. The company has yet to release pricing, but the normal RS6 Avant Performance and RS7 Performance start at $126,895 and $128,895, respectively. We suspect the Bronze Edition will end up in the high 130s or low 140s considering all of the optional extras included as standard. Deliveries are expected to begin this fall.
