We’ve had a while now to get excited about the new 2024 Lexus GX’s interesting new design, wide offering of colors and trims, and additional off-road equipment. But now we finally know how much it will cost. The GX550 starts at $64,250 and ranges up to $81,250 for the top Luxury+ model, representing a significant bump over its predecessor.

The base model is called Premium, and it comes standard with a 379-hp twin-turbo 3.4-liter V-6, a 10-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive, like all GX550s. The V-6 achieves an EPA highway fuel economy rating of 21 mpg, a 2 mpg bump over the old V-8; Lexus also says a hybrid version is arriving later on, but we don’t have details about that model yet. There’s a $69,250 Premium+ trim with more equipment, and the even more loaded Luxury and Luxury+ trims start at $77,250 and $81,250.

The Overtrail trim, which will be particularly interesting to off-road enthusiasts, starts $69,250. It too offers a better-equipped Overtrail+ configuration, which is $77,250 and is roughly equivalent to the GX550 Luxury. Unlike the Premium and Luxury trims, which come standard with a third-row seat and offer a choice of either second-row captain's chairs or a bench, the Overtrail is a two-row model with a second-row bench and five-passenger capacity.

Lexus hasn’t yet released option pricing but does say that standalone extras will include a 21-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, a digital key, a cooler box, a head-up display, and other driver-assist features. Look for the first examples of the 2024 GX to start arriving at U.S. dealerships in early 2024. Lexus has a pre-order guide online already, but the build-your-own tool is not yet live.
