  • Mazda revealed pricing for the CX-70 and CX-70 Hybrid, its newest pairing of mid-size two-row SUVs.

  • Pricing for the standard CX-70 ranges from $41,820 to $57,325, while pricing for the plug-in-hybrid model spans from $55,775 to $58,825.

  • Mazda plans to start selling the CX-70 this spring, with the cheaper trim levels to follow in the summer and fall.

Mazda just released pricing information for the new CX-70 and CX-70 Hybrid models. Pricing for the standard CX-70 starts at $41,820 and ranges up to $57,325 in the top S Premium Plus trim. With fewer trims offered, the plug-in-hybrid model has a smaller price range, starting at $55,775 and topping out at $58,825.

The two-row CX-70 offers fewer trim levels than the three-row CX-90 does, which explains why its base price is slightly higher because it starts with the better-equipped Preferred model instead of the CX-90's $39,220 base Select trim level. Lining up the 2025 CX-70 models with their equivalent trims on the 2024 CX-90 shows that the two models are priced identically across the board. After all, the CX-70 is really just a two-row version of a CX-90 anyway. This exact price overlap may change slightly once 2025 CX-90 pricing is released.

The CX-70 shares its turbocharged 3.3-liter inline-six engine and 48-volt hybrid system with the CX-90. This powertrain makes 280 hp in the Preferred, Premium, and Premium Plus trims and 340 hp when you fork over the cash for the sportier S trims, starting at $53,825 for the S Premium. Stepping up from the base Preferred model into the mid-grade, $47,725 Premium trim adds 21-inch wheels in place of the 19-inch versions on the base car. The Premium trim also gets a 12.3-inch digital driver's display and a head-up display on the windshield. Upgrading to the $50,275 Premium Plus means nicer Nappa leather and comfort features like a heated steering wheel, ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats to offset the higher price. The top S Premium Plus trim, for $57,325, gets tan quilted Nappa leather upholstery, along with a two-tone leather-wrapped steering wheel and handsome suede inserts for the dashboard.

The plug-in-hybrid powerplant from the CX-90 makes its way over as well, using a 2.5-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor to produce a combined 323 horsepower. With only two trim levels, the PHEV version is only available in $55,775 Premium and $58,825 Premium Plus variants. In our testing of the CX-90 Hybrid, we found it to be quicker than the inline-six model. Both CX-70 hybrid trims come equipped with an onboard battery Mazda says should be able to provide around 26 miles of electric driving per charge.

All three powertrains are backed by an eight-speed automatic transmission (which we found to be occasionally sluggish to respond in the CX-90) and come standard with with all-wheel drive.
