2025 Ram 1500 REV packs 650 horsepower, up to 500 miles of range

It may have technically been revealed first during the Super Bowl, but the New York Auto Show is where we're finally getting to see the 2025 Ram 1500 REV up close and personal. It's also where Ram has provided all the important specs. And with 650 horsepower and up to 500 miles of range, it has some impressive numbers. The body of the Ram is very obviously based on the current Ram, but it has unique front and rear styling. The front bumper, grille, lights and hood are all completely different, and the headlights and illuminated "RAM" badge are straight off the concept. The taillights also continue onto the tailgate, similar to the F-150 Lightning. But this old body sits on new underpinnings. The REV uses the new STLA Frame, well, frame. It's a fair bit wider in the middle than the regular Ram frame in order to fit the battery packs. JOEL STOCKSDALE: The Ram 1500 REV is finally here. This is the fully electric Ram 1500 pickup truck to take on the F-150 Lightning and the Chevy Silverado EV. It's available in almost one configuration, in the crew cab standard bed with two motors that make 654 horsepower and 620 pound feet of torque.

The difference between them is that one has a smaller battery pack of 168 kilowatt hours and the other has a larger one of 229 kilowatt hours. That first one is estimated to have about 350 miles of range. And the larger pack is estimated at around 500 miles of range. The Ram has mostly the same old body, but it has a new front fascia, and a new set of tail lights, and tailgate. Makes it a little more efficient aerodynamically at 0.34 coefficient of drag.

And it all sits on the new STLA frame, frame. It's still a body-on-frame pickup truck. And the batteries sit between the frame rails. The frame rails on this are wider than on a regular Ram because there needed to be space for said batteries.

Towing capacity on this is 14,000 pounds. And payload capacity is 2,700 pounds. Both of which are, as far as we know, compared with everybody else, class-leading numbers. It also has a front trunk that has just over 15 cubic feet of space. There is on-board power. Up front, there's a little bit over 3 kilowatts of power. And in the back, there's 7.2 kilowatts of power plus a 240-volt power outlet. It also has the Ram box bedside compartments for storing things. And even those have power outlets in them.

So you can stow and charge all kinds of things. And in the event of a power outage, you can plug into this and run all kinds of appliances. The interior on the Ram REV is very similar to the regular one. But there is an available screen in front of the passenger. And that will allow the passenger to view entertainment, change radio stations, check navigation, things like that. There's also a top-of-the-line tungsten trim, which is what you see here. And it has a beautiful blue and white leather interior.

It's got a glass covered badge on the center console. It's a very luxurious vehicle. Pricing has not been announced for this yet, nor has availability. But we should be seeing it in the next year or so, since it's a 2025 model.
