The world of drifting has brought us some fairly insane machines over the past few years, including a twin-supercharged Ferrari 599 and a 458-powered Toyota GT86. It’s hard not to be drawn to these cars with Italian supercar powertrains, but the folks at Drift Games have taken things in a different direction. The team was recently working on a 2JZ-powered Lamborghini Gallardo, and in a recent video, it made 850 hp on the dyno.

Our European fans might already be familiar with Drift Games, a professional drift team that works alongside the Drift Masters European Championship to put on exciting events for drifting fans across the continent. They also happen to run a pretty interesting YouTube page, which features a ton of crazy builds such as this Lamborghini. The car in question is a 2004 model, which is finished in a delightful blue over blue-and-cream interior. The car originally came equipped with a 5.0-liter V-10 engine, which provided 493 hp and 376 lb-ft.

That sweet-singing V-10 wasn’t removed by the Drift Games crew, as they actually purchased the car with the swap already complete. The previous owner was responsible for the heart transplant, which came as the result of a blown V-10. A 2JZ-GTE engine from a MkIV Toyota Supra was chosen as the replacement powertrain.

While the old inline-six only provides 320 hp in stock form, it’s not that difficult to push these motors deep into the four-digit power range. Of course, flappy paddles wouldn’t suffice for a project like this, so the inline-six build features a manual-converted single-clutch gearbox. Getting everything to work together was a bit of a challenge, and one that required some additional fine-tuning by the Drift Games team.

Unfortunately for the entire community, this might be the last time we'll get a chance to see this crazy build in action. According to a report from Car Throttle, Drift Games' headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, was impacted by a gas explosion and fire earlier this week, resulting in the destruction of the studio and all of the cars inside. Other automotive businesses were also located within the complex, including Deane Motors, JC Autocare, and Franklin Motorcycles. The local community has already started to pour on support for the impacted parties, but you can directly support the team at Drift Games by checking out their new "We Will Never Give Up" merch line at the link provided here.
