5 Fast Facts: 2016 Lincoln MKX

Packed with new technologies such as luxury quiet ride features and an audiophile sound system, the 2016 Lincoln MKX midsize premium crossover SUV is the latest redesign in the Lincoln fold. Based on the same platform as the Ford Edge, the MKX boasts a curvier, restyled exterior and newly appointed interior.


To assist your shopping research, here are five fast facts about the second-generation, 5-passenger 2016 Lincoln MKX:

1) A 303-horsepower, 3.7-liter V-6 engine powers the base MKX. The optional EcoBoost twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 that generates 335 horsepower and 380 lb.-ft. of torque is a second power choice and is mated with a standard 6-speed push-button automatic transmission with paddle shifters on front-wheel- (FWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD) versions. The EPA estimates average highway fuel economy of 26 mpg with 17 mpg in city driving (FWD variants).
2) Trim levels include Premiere, Select, Reserve, and Black Label themed designer selections. The cabin features upscale two-tone upholstery treatments with optional premium leather and wood and a panoramic sunroof. Power, heated, and cooled adjustable front seats with massage function are one luxury option.
3) Lincoln’s push-button shifting on the 2016 MKX allows for extra center-console room, and new noise-reducing technologies including active noise control and a laminated windshield. Larger wheels and tires also are available. An available drive control system helps achieve a smoother ride in three modes: comfort, normal, or sport.
4) Adaptive steering, reverse sensors, pre-collision assist, and a 360-degree camera plus multiple air bags are standard, and adaptive HID headlights come on the upscale Reserve trim. MyLincoln Touch or the next Sync 3 infotainment system are also featured. MyLincoln mobile app is available to unlock, start, stop, and locate an owner’s MKX anywhere.
5) A specially tuned Revel sound system with 13 or 19-speakers is available and includes Audience and On Stage listening modes.
