Did you know that IndyCar staged a massively expensive, entirely meaningless race at a club track this past weekend? I didn’t, because I enjoy watching the act of racing a lot less than watching the act of someone putting together a racing car — and it seems I’m not the only one who missed the news.
Nemo, for one, didn’t tune into this week’s IndyCar spectacle. They gave their reasons for not doing so right at the top of Elizabeth’s article, leaving Markoff8585 to guess how we’d respond behind the scenes:
All of us here at the good ship Jalopnik have been known to discuss comments in Slack. Great comments, bad comments, the comments where we have to ask “Hey, is this a bannable offense?” We like to chat here, and you all are often our topic of conversation.
It’s nice to know that you’re doing the same thing out there — imagining how we might respond to your comments, or the comments of your fellow Jalops. I do imagine Markoff was a bit off here — I’d think the drinking wouldn’t start before the end of the workday — but perhaps that first drink after work came with the memory of Nemo.
