Yahoo Autos This 750 Horsepower Homebuilt Fiero Is the Most Terrifying Thing on the Road
The original Pontiac Fiero is a subject of mixed opinions in the enthusiast community, with a devoted cult following that keeps the quirky 80's sports car on the roads today. One owner decided to turn his Fiero into one of the most insane builds on the road, and has nicknamed it the 'Death Fiero.'
While the car might resemble a Fiero at some angles, almost every piece of the car is completely new. Mike, the owner, built an entire chassis for the car from scratch, then dropped in a DG63 Mitsubishi engine that's capable of 750 horsepower. It uses a gigantic turbo, so boost doesn't kick in until very high up in the rev-range. Seeing as how the engine's in the middle, applying power in anything other than a straight line must be fairly terrifying.
Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire was lucky (unlucky?) enough to get some seat time on track in this Mad Max-esqe machine, and is visibly afraid for his life the entire time. With barely any weight in the 2300 pound car, he's able to get very sideways despite being on a 450 horsepower tune.
