From Road & Track

For its first-ever Corvette Aerowagen conversion, legendary tuning firm Callaway didn't start out with a boring old Stingray–it used a Z06 instead. And since Callaway apparently can't leave well enough alone, it squeezed an additional 107 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque out of the Z06's already monstrous V8. The result is a 'Vette that looks, and drives, like nothing you've ever seen out of GM.

That's the verdict from Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire, who got his hands on the only Aerowagen in the world for a quick video review. Farah says it's "one of the scariest cars I've ever driven"-a serious statement, considering the number of outrageous, heavily-modified cars Farah has reviewed. With this level of power, the Z06 Aerowagen is really only at home at the dragstrip or the runway–it's too much for the road.

If you've driven a new Z06, this conclusion isn't entirely surprising. Stock, the Z06 is one of the fastest cars money can buy. With 107 more horsepower, it must feel downright terrifying.

So, if you want to spend $15,000 on Callaway's Aerowagen conversion, perhaps you should start with a Stingray, or better still, the sublime Grand Sport. With only 460-hp, it won't be the world's fastest breadvan, but trust us, a basic Corvette is more than quick enough.
