Acura's NSX mid-engine supercar is the subject of two separate recalls, one involving a problem with the fuel tanks and another targeting the brake lights.

The fuel-tank issue affects 967 cars from the 2017 and 2018 model years. The NSX has twin fuel tanks feeding its dry-sump, twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6, and the crossover pipe connecting the right and left tanks may have been installed incorrectly. If so, that defect eventually could lead to a fuel leak, with a resultant risk of fire. The fix involves replacing both tanks.

The second recall is for 793 examples of the 2017 NSX, which have an issue with their brake lights. The center brake light can short-circuit, which can lead to a blown fuse, disabling the brake lights entirely. That would trigger a warning light on the dash, and once it's illuminated, the car won't start until the problem is fixed. Dealers will replace the center brake light.

In both cases, the repairs are being performed free of charge. Acura is reaching out to owners by phone, and will follow that up with notifications by mail-although those won't start until early November. To date, the company says it knows of no accidents or injuries related to the two problems. Acura NSX owners seeking more information can call (844) 682-2872 to find out if their car is affected.
