  • Acura will show off its ZDX battery-electric crossover on August 17, kicking off the weekend that leads to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

  • The ZDX EV is said to borrow themes from the Precision EV Concept that debuted last year.

  • The ZDX and its all-electric Type S variant are scheduled to go on sale early next year.

Following its Precision EV concept’s debut during Car Week last year, the team at Acura is gearing up to show off the production variant. Dubbed the ZDX, this battery-electric crossover is going to borrow elements from the bold Precision EV concept’s styling and turn those into a more sensible production car. Acura plans on unveiling the ZDX on August 17, which puts its debut ahead of the famed Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

We still don’t know a ton about what to expect from the ZDX. We do know Acura will lean on General Motors’ Ultium battery platform, but actual powertrain details are scarce for now. We do know Acura is launching a Type-S version of the ZDX—also all-electric—which the company claims will be its quickest accelerating SUV to date.

We also know Acura has designed an illuminated diamond grille for the nose of the ZDX. The illuminated grille will debut alongside Acura’s integration with Google’s suite of infotainment services, which puts Google’s popular map and assistant into the car from the factory.

While questions about the battery, range, and powertrain will be answered when the ZDX debuts ahead of Pebble Beach, we doubt the company will announce any pricing details until closer to the ZDX’s market launch.
