The Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Is a Very Special GTA
If you live in Italy and racing has been part of your life since day one, there’s really no excuse not to take on the challenge of a classic Alfa Romeo. That's especially true when you get the chance to pick up somebody’s neglected project for a bargain, with all the know-how and help at hand to finish the job.
And when that project car turns out to be one of the original Alfa Romeo Alleggeritas - the twin-spark, DOHC-powered, riveted aluminum-bodied competition specials built by Autodelta - 160 horses will lure you towards a three-year restoration process. But once done, a Giulia Sprint GTA will deliver thrills. This is what lightweight, razor-sharp driving is all about, friend.
I have a feeling that if it could make any editorial sense, Petrolicious would only feature Alfa Romeo GTAs, with perhaps a few Berlinas thrown in for good measure. And we would be absolutely fine with that.
