AlphaTauri F1 Team Gets a New Sponsor, New Name — And It's a Big-Money Mouthful

All that AlphaTauri Formula 1 racing gear you have in your closet just became vintage.

The team today announced that Visa has come on board as the team's title sponsor and that the team will now be known as Visa Cash App RB. The sponsorship is said to be the first global sponsorship for Visa in more than 15 years, and the brand's logo will also adorn the Red Bull Racing team cars of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.

“This is a groundbreaking partnership, and a great opportunity for the Visa brand to engage one of the fastest-growing sports communities on the planet,” said Frank Cooper III, chief marketing officer, Visa. “This alliance resonates strongly with Visa’s vision to inspire individuals to ‘make it,’ striving to take small steps for improvement each day, during every race or event.”

Visa Cash App RB drivers Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo will help unveil the team's new livery and color schemes during a launch event in Las Vegas on February 8.

In addition to its new relationship with the Red Bull F1 program, Visa will take on a sponsorship role in the F1 Academy series. The all female driving series takes place at seven select F1 tracks over the same weekend as the F1 races. That livery will also be unveiled during February’s special event in Las Vegas.
