Andretti Global, HMD Motorsports join the hiring spree

Add Andretti Global and HMD Motorsports to the list of American open-wheel teams who are seeking talented employees to join their growing empires.

For HMD, which won back-to-back Indy NXT titles in 2022-23, its sizable nine-car team is headed to a new facility in Brownsburg, Indiana.

“We have built and grown a championship-winning race program and want to ensure that we keep that competitive edge,” HMD Motorsports GM Mike Maurini told RACER. “We are aiming to hire experienced mechanics to work in our Indy NXT program from any other form of motorsports, as well as potential mechanics that may just be looking for a change from their current race program. While we may run a large number of cars, we still have a very family-friendly environment but aim to add car chiefs and mechanics who want to work in the fast-paced life of open-wheel racing.

“And while we have a strong engineering program, we may be looking at an additional engineer or two, but want to add to that area as well if the right fit. While no application or resume will be denied, we are looking for people who are currently Indy-based or would look to relocate to work inside our new 80,000 square-foot building.”

Andretti’s needs span open-wheel and sports cars through its Wayne Taylor Racing with Andretti IMSA GTP program run on behalf of Acura. Its job portal is presently limited to open-wheel roles, but its IMSA needs are headed to the site in short order.
