Fuel pumps are one of the most vital parts of a car's operation. Usually located within the gas tank, fuel pumps are responsible for sending pressurized fuel into the engine, and require a bunch of moving parts to work, as this nifty teardown video will show.

YouTuber speedkar99 put together a video explaining exactly how a fuel pump works, going through all the systems, engineering tricks, and electronics necessary to get gasoline from the tank into the engine. He even removes the pump from a 2001 Toyota Corolla to tear it down and show us first-hand what's inside.

Though it might look plain on the outside, this pump has an entire system dedicated to pressurizing, filtering, and sending the fuel out via a DC motor. It's extremely cool to see the entire pump broken down and explained in terms we can understand. Watch for yourself and learn a little bit about how your car actually works.
