Back in 2014, Aston Martin's favorite Italian coachbuilder, Zagato, took a Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 and re-bodied it in carbon fiber for collector Albert Spiess. The one-off L595 coupé was designed by Stephane Schwarz, the master behind the Nissan Qashqai. That's right.

The L595 may have not made it to our list of Zagato favorites, but the company's recent Aston Martin collaborations certainly have. And the latest news from Milan is that Zagato's Iso Rivolta concept for Gran Turismo will actually make it into limited production as well, built around a Corvette chassis.

Yet before we see one of the planned five modern Iso homages in the flesh, Zagato has decided to take a step back, building an L595 roadster four years after the coupé's debut. The open top version is equally Gallardo based, only louder. But is it getting built for the same person?

At this point, it's hard to tell, mostly because Zagato hasn't released more than a single rendering, which was spotted by a Carscoops reader. What's certain is the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d'Este is happening next month, and the L595 hardtop debuted at this prestigious event around Lake Como four years ago. It is highly likely that the roadster will follow this trend. After all, this sharp-dressed gathering is the biggest celebration of couch-built specials.
