The college basketball season opens on Monday with nearly every Division I team in the country in action. On the men's side alone there are more than 200 games on the schedule.

The Arizona State men are the first in-state team to tip off. The Sun Devils host Tarleton State at 5 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena. The Sun Devils are showing off a new look that has head coach Bobby Hurley excited for the season. The team's Monday opponent won't notice anything new about the Sun Devils, however. ASU and Tarleton State have not met previously. A member of the WAC, Tarleton went 14-17 during the 2021-22 season. The Texans played a solid non-conference schedule with games against Kansas, Michigan and Gonzaga during the first month of that season.

On Thursday, ASU will host NAU with a 7 p.m. tipoff. The Sun Devils and Lumberjacks last played in 2017 when ASU won, 97-62. The teams are 2-2 against each other since first playing in 2005. The Sun Devils will finish their week Nov. 13 at Texas Southern for a 1 p.m. start.
