Ashanti Gifts Nelly A Restomod ’62 Impala Convertible

Singer Ashanti had a huge surprise for her main squeeze Nelly to celebrate his birthday this year, a tricked-out restomod 1962 Chevy Impala. The beautiful American classic convertible is done up in blue, of course, which nice chrome and gold trim pieces to really make it pop. This is what you get for the man who has everything.

For Nelly’s birthday bash, Ashanti threw a big army-themed party with plenty in attendance. Party guests and even Nelly went wild when the ’62 Impala rolled out, probably because the ride looks absolutely smoking.

What’s more, Nelly has said the 1962 Chevy Impala has been his dream car since he was a child, according to TMZ. Considering the popularity of these cars has risen dramatically in recent years, we’d be willing to bet quite a few of his fans and just people in general feel the same way.

On Instagram, Nelly recently posted a video of his new ride with the caption “Dammm mama you did that… Bday gift overkill…!!” We think he’s happy.

Among the modern amenities in the beautiful interior is a sound system adored with Nelly’s own logo. He’ll no doubt be making good use of that while the top’s down and everyone is staring. Everything looks buttoned up nice and tight, which is no wonder since the custom restomod reportedly set Ashanti back well over $100,000. We’re sure that was no big deal for her.

Under that long and spacious hood is an LS3 V8, giving this Impala plenty of get up and go should Nelly ever want to roast those tires. We’re willing to bet the man is more into going slow and smooth, which this Chevy is perfect to do just that.
