As part of its comeback plan, Aston Martin has a ton of new cars in the pipeline, all to be released within the next few years. Last year saw the introduction of the DB11, and the new V8 Vantage and DB11 Volante are up next. Aston is also testing a hotter version of the DB11, which we think could be called the DBS, or perhaps, the Vanquish, as most recently seen in this spy video from the Nurburgring.

This video comes to us from YouTuber Automotive Mike, who captures all sorts of prototype cars at the 'Ring. There's some great footage of the car on track, but more importantly, Automotive Mike captures it refueling, giving us a great look at the differences between the standard DB11 and the car seen here.

The most obvious changes are in the front fascia, which features a larger splitter and much bigger air intakes on the front bumper ahead of the wheels. Part of the front grille is blocked off as well. Around the back and sides, it's harder to note any significant changes, but a larger rear spoiler sticks out. Aston is very keen on keeping aerodynamic devices like wings and spoilers out of sight, so it's reasonable to guess that there might be more significant aero changes on the underside of the car.

This prototype sounds similar to the regular DB11, which is powered by a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 making 600 horsepower. We suspect this Vanquish, like the previous model, will get a significant power increase over the car it's based on.

Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer said he wants to see more variation between the company's future models, so we expect the Vanquish to be a lot more aggressive than the grand touring-optimized DB11. We're not sure when we'll see this car officially, but given that it's testing on the 'Ring, it should be soon.
