A few years ago, Polyphony Digital started getting automakers to create cars that'd live within Gran Turismo. Dubbed 'Vision GT,' the cars didn't have to exist in the real world, and therefore could have outlandish specs and performance. They were what engineers dreamed they could make, not what they actually could make.

While some, like Mercedes, made mockups of the cars, none of them have existed in the real world. Until now. Audi's e-tron Vision GT is real, and will be a taxi at Formula E races to scare the pants off spectators.

The e-tron Vision GT is a one-off, you won't be able to buy one. But the specs of that one car are rather impressive. It has 804 horsepower from three electric motors–two out back and one up front–and weighs 3200 pounds. Audi, which has been developing the car for nearly five years, says it has perfect weight distribution and will hit 60 in just 2.5 seconds.

While the electric version is real and pays homage to the Audi 90 IMSO GTO racer, there's another version that'll be in the game alone. This one is a hybrid version of the same car, with a V6 powering the rear wheels and the hybrid system maintained up front. The hybrid is the more powerful of the two, with 1274 horsepower between the engine and hybrid system available.

You can play both cars in the game starting April 9th, and Audi's taxi service will start at Formula E's upcoming Rome E-Prix.
