All high-performance Audis come with all-wheel drive, but while the S8 and the RS6 pack the same twin-turbo V8, the R8 has ten naturally-aspirated cylinders borrowed from Lamborghini. Both drivetrains produce around 600 horsepower, paired with instant shifts granted by the double-clutch gearboxes.

Knowing the weight difference between the three, it's fairly easy to guess the outcome, but it's still interesting to see what the family wagon can do off the line against Audi's supercar. Also, the factory claimed acceleration figures (R8 V10 Plus: 3.2 sec., RS6: 3.7 sec., S8: 3.8 sec.) once again turn out to be rather on the conservative side.

The only question now: could an RS7 outrun the wagon? These are all very important issues worth investigating.
