Audi has issued a recall of over 50,000 cars produced between 2019 and 2022 over an unprotected control module hidden under the rear seats that could, when in contact with liquid, cut engine power and increase the risk of a crash.

The recall includes the 2019-2022 A6 and A7; the 2020-2022 A6 Allroad, the 2020-2022 S6 and S7; and, most importantly for the R&T crowd, the 2021-2022 RS 6 Avant and RS 7. According to an NHTSA report filed by Audi on November 21, the cars weren't produced with a protective cover for the control module, which sits under the middle rear seat.
