This weekend marks the eighth round of the 2017 Formula One championship, with the series returning to Azerbaijan and the Baku street circuit for the second time. Like Monaco and Singapore, it features virtually no runoff areas, with solid barriers on either side of the course. Judging by this highlight video of the first free practice session, it looks like drivers are having a tough time avoiding the walls.

Azerbaijan is the newest race on the F1 calendar, snaking through the tight streets of Baku, while providing some of the longest, fastest straights of the year. The circuit also features the narrowest section of track in Formula One, a left-right chicane bordered by an actual castle on one side.

In the first session of free practice, Force India driver Sergio Perez found out the hard way what happens with you don't get the car turned in just right. He slammed into the wall, taking out his right-side suspension.

Later in the day during the second practice round, Red Bull driver Max Verstappen had a crash at turn one after setting the fastest time of the day, per Autosport.

But they weren't the only drivers to struggle during the sessions. Watch for yourself as even the top drivers size up F1's most challenging circuit.
