BestFriendz Selfie Lounge in Streetsboro to offer photo fun for all ages

Ever have bad lighting ruin a cell phone photo?

For those who struggle with lighting and finding the proper setting for photos, Brandi Little and Bianca Segines plan to open BestFriendz Selfie Lounge in Streetsboro early next year. The friends are from Twinsburg and Streetsboro, respectively.

The studio will be located at Liberty Corners Plaza near the corner of Route 43 and Market Square Drive. The former tanning salon has a lobby area and 15 studio rooms that used to be set up for tanning, Little said.

“We lucked out because it was actually the perfect build-out,” said Little. “It’s for all ages, and you can have private events here, like birthday parties. When you book your slot, it’s on the hour and you get an hour of selfie studio time. You can bring in a photographer; you can bring your own camera. You can come in and have props in the studios and come take pictures whether you’re using them for Instagram or Tiktok or maybe a baby shower … it’s just fun.”

The business provides studios with different themes and LED lighting designed for taking photos.

“You can make them yellow; you can make them white or you can dim them,” Little explained. “The premise is that it’ll be about 25 people per hour, and they’ll come through and, if the staff is available, they can come to take your pictures.”

There are also stands to hold the cameras if there is no extra person available to take photos.

The rooms are themed. There’s a basketball room with murals of Celtics great Larry Bird, Lebron James during his Cleveland Cavaliers days, late LA Lakers star Kobe Bryant, and Chicago Bulls great Michael Jordan. There’s also a basketball hoop in that studio.

Little calls another room the 2-D room, which was painted by Sampson the Artist. It includes small pieces of furniture, crown molding, a bookcase and other items all painted white. Sampson the Artist also painted a room full of emojis.

“Normally, our rooms will get switched out every six to nine months, but rooms such as this one and basketball room will just be added on to,” she said, referring to the 2-D room.

Little said rooms will be changed for the holidays and is considering including a Streetsboro Rockets room. Another room Little said they’re still working on will be an ’80s bedroom.

“We have something for all ages; we have something for adults something for kids,” she said.

One of the reasons she and Segines decided to create the business was to add a place Streetsboro and Twinsburg teens would love visiting.

“One of my friends owns one in Beachwood, and there’s one in Eastlake, but there’s nothing over here for us and our kids,” Little said.
