Bethenny Frankel Used “Dollar Store Color” on Her Hair: See the Results
Bethenny Frankel is coloring outside the lines — or, shall we say, outside the salon. The Real Housewives of New York City alum took to her Instagram Stories on March 23 to share a glimpse of the “dollar store color” she’d just used to dye her hair.
Bethenny filmed her beauty news from the backseat of a car. Showing off a fresh blow-out with gleaming, dark brown waves, she gave the lowdown on her locks. “Did dollar store color on my hair today,” which worked out, she said. We wholeheartedly agree. Bethenny’s hair has never looked shinier.
However, she had more trepidation about the next stage of her getting-ready regimen. “Did my own makeup, which was very nerve-racking because it’s for an event,” she said. “I said no way I’m getting my pictures taken, because the lashes were scary to [apply to] the eyes. I lacked confidence in this.”
She went on to give some props to people who know the ins and outs of lash application. “I have to give you credit if you know how to do it,” she acknowledged. “Honestly, people wonder how I cook, and now I realize how they feel, because I just know. I just have an instinct for that. But I don’t have the best instincts when it gets down to the nitty-gritty and the lashes.”

Though she’s not accustomed to the ”nitty-gritty” aspects of eyelashes, the Skinnygirl mogul has been familiarizing herself with beauty products lately. In her popular new “de influencer” videos, Bethenny has shared her candid opinions on drugstore products, luxury lip glosses, and more.
So is there any chance that Bethenny will start her own beauty line someday? After all, the entrepreneurial former Housewife has launched everything from salad dressing to jeans in the past.
Alas, Bethenny has no current plans to dip her toe into the market. While chatting with New Beauty, Bethenny answered a question about whether she plans to launch a beauty brand of her own.
“[Beauty] is the most crowded space,” she said. “There’s nothing new to say, there’s nothing new to do. The beauty industry is so saturated with promises. Everything does everything. I don’t really have anything new to say right now. If I had some new solution or if I discovered some new ingredient, I would say it. I would share it! But I’m not there yet… and I have to really think about what that would be.”
She continued: “If I launched a brand, I would only do it because I would truly believe it could help the industry. It wouldn’t be like, ‘Let me do another line.’ There’s way too much out there. And nothing is different. I have no plans to enter into the beauty space right now, but if I come up with something that I think could help people or be different, I would.”
