2014 Jeep Cherokee priced at $22,995, hoping Marty McFly’s right

Following the announced return of the classic Jeep Cherokee name, a brand that still holds a loyal following despite last being produced in 2001, the Internet and its commenters erupted in rage at the car's attempt at a futuristic attire. Many deemed its looks akin to a dinosaur, or some kind of reptile, while others simply deemed it plain ridiculous. There were a few positive descriptors, however, but those commenters mainly got slammed for their opinions being stupid. Whatever your view, the 2014 Jeeps Cherokee will be coming to a dealership near you for as low as $22,995.

Replacing the outgoing Jeep Liberty, the 2014 Cherokee undercuts its predecessor by a few hundred bucks. It comes in four trim levels — Sport ($22,995), Latitude ($24,495), Limited ($27,995) and Trailhawk ($29,495) — with two or four-wheel drive being an option for all but the Trailhawk which arrives only in four-wheel drive. Adding four-wheel drive adds $2,000 to the price, making it cheaper to buy a Trailhawk than option out a Limited. The standard engine on tap is the 2.4-liter Tigershark inline four, but those venturing above the Sport model can opt for a 3.2-liter Pentastar V-6. All-in, it seems like Chrysler has manufactured a good deal.

While vivid opinions have already been drawn, with the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, images of Marty McFly performing Johnny B. Goode come to mind: "I guess you guys aren't ready for that, yet. But your kids are gonna love it."
