Driving the world’s fastest supercars

Despite the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance being associated with glorious old vehicles, in reality, the events surrounding the big show - along with the roads - are teeming with modern marvels. While our focus at Yahoo! Autos was on our exclusive live streaming of Sunday's events, we still managed to sample some of the world's fastest cars. Gathering at the Casa Palmero hotel last Saturday morning, we leaped behind the wheel of cars like the V-12 Aston Martin Vanquish, a tuned Hennessey Ferrari 458 sporting 738 hp (more on that to come), a McLaren 12C Spider, and the fastest car in the world — the Bugatti Veyron (although Hennessey might contest that). Needless to say, it was a lot of fun. The week surrounding Pebble Beach continues to celebrate the new almost as much as the old. Check out our gallery below, as well as the video above.
