Watch four Power Wheels F-150s try to hold a real Ford pickup

Even with its aluminum body, the new Ford F-150 is still a two-ton vehicle. The Fisher-Price Power Wheels F-150 weighs all of 92 lbs. You can easily carry four Power Wheels trucks in the bed of the real F-150. But could four Power Wheels ever carry an actual F-150? For some reason, Fisher-Price decided to find out — and the results are surprising.

For the test, Fisher-Price went to Detroit with its toy trucks and found a willing laboratory. The Power Wheels were given a brace to let the wheels of the F-150 rest properly, but were otherwise not altered from a standard unit. The F-150 was then gently lowered onto the toys via a lift, and the anxiety in the video above looks more than reasonable.

As a parent, this video impresses me, although I'm certain that the right child in the right circumstances could find a way to be more destructive than a full-size Detroit pickup. Now that we know how durable a Power Wheels F-150 can be, maybe we can find some other uses for them — like giving the off-roaders who race downhill in Barbie Jeeps something else to fall out of.
