Have you heard about the M2 Competition? It's the new 405-horsepower M3-engined version of BMW's entry-level 2-Series coupe, meant to represent the very best the car has to offer. Well, that car has nothing on this LS7 V8-powered 2-Series drift car.

The engine in the new M2 Competition may have a bit more sophistication, but the GM LS7 crate motor is undoubtedly more entertaining-perfect for drifting applications. Plus, it's incredibly torquey, and wonderfully loud when fitted with the right exhaust system. Still on the fence? This video of the car tearing through a drift course should convince you. Please, turn the sound up.

And judging by the track record for modern German reliability, we'd say the LS7 is probably the more reliable choice too. That is, if you're not pinning the tachometer at any given opportunity like the drivers above.
