In the last few years, BMW has ramped up its offerings in the OEM accessory department, offering cosmetic and performance upgrades to BMW owners who want to spice up their car with officially-branded gear. Now, the German manufacturer is taking it one step further, creating an M240i with all of those accessories already included. Just don't expect it to be, you know, faster.

The car is called the BMW M240i M "Performance Edition," and despite its suggestive name, it only adds five horsepower over the standard 335-horsepower M240i. What the Performance Edition does have, in abundance, is aesthetic accessories.

The car includes a set of 19-inch alloy wheels, a carbon fiber spoiler, carbon fiber mirror caps, carbon fiber tailpipes, black kidney grilles, M Performance side skirt decals, and an M Performance steering wheel. Also included are slight aerodynamic tweaks front and rear to optimize "handling and driving performance."

Limited to just 750 units, the M240i M Performance Edition will be offered exclusively in white, with a choice of eight-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission. Buyers will be able to option BMW's xDrive all-wheel-drive system, but not a convertible top.

We reached out to the automaker and confirmed that yes, the BMW M240i M Performance Edition will come to the US. So prepare yourselves, America: An even-higher-performance M240i is coming, so long as you define "performance" as "looking fast."

Update 5/18/17: BMW has confirmed to Road & Track that only 65 of the 750 M240i M Performance Editions will be making their way to the United States. Furthermore, the company has also said all 65 cars will come in the rear-wheel-drive, manual transmission configuration. Pricing has yet to be announced.
