On March 12, 2008, Mitt Romney got a classic car as a birthday gift

On this date four years ago, former Massachusetts governor/Mormon bishop/GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney (pictured here at his home in Belmont, Mass.) received a nicely restored 1962 AMC Rambler American convertible from his son Tagg as a 60th birthday gift. Romney's late father, former Michigan governor/Mormon high priest/GOP presidential candidate George Romney, was CEO of American Motors Corporation at the time the vehicle was manufactured. The present is rooted in the past; as a student at Brigham Young University in 1965, Romney received his first car, a used 1963 Rambler Classic, from his father.
