Rodger Dudding had been an entrepreneur since a very young age. After studying mechanical engineering as an apprentice at the Royal Navy in the 1950s, he made his first big paycheck by manufacturing a ticketing machine system some fifteen years later. By that time, he also made some money holding various positions in sales and marketing, which allowed him to buy a Jensen FF in 1968. Things snowballed from there.

Later in the 1970s, Dudding invested in self-storage units, garages and property development, which still keeps him on the list of the thousand wealthiest British residents today. Considering that, his $50 million car collection almost seems modest.

Highlights from the 350-vehicle garage include a supercharged Austin-powered single-seater built in the early 1930s by Marcus Chambers from the burnt out remains of the Boyd Carpenter Special. Its mascot is a turtle shell with a rabbit painted on it, hence the team name Lapin Blanc (White Rabbit).

But Team Bentley crew scooters and family Morris Minors aside, Rodger Dudding's true love lies in cars designed by William Towns, father of the wedge-shaped Lagonda and Aston Martin Bulldog concept.

The fact that he owns both one of the three BMC-based 1973 Hustler 8 Space Shuttles and one of the estimated 500 Mini-based Hustler Huntsman kit cars is only the tip of the iceberg.

The real lunacy starts when you learn that he has 24 Aston Martin Lagondas, despite his website listing "only" 16, and the man himself joking that "(one) should be taken to the lunatic asylum if he's got three or more."

I guess maintenance is easier that way? With not one, but two Tickford editions at hand? Enter the lunacy, just outside of London:
