Those fortunate enough to have seen GT40s at speed know that these cars are dominated by their big block Ford V8's torque. That means your right foot has more to do with the steering than your hands, and the situation doesn't get any less intimidating in a straight line either.

Ted Baird, the builder of a 1966-spec Mark II is familiar with the feeling. He spent years hunting for all original parts, and ended up stripping a Superformance GT40 of its younger elements to create an all original Mark II continuation.

A project like this demands one's time and money, but it also teaches the brave about the wonders of fabrication, the importance of patience, and the ingenuity of past generations. No to mention driving skills...
