The FD-generation Mazda RX-7 is one of the hottest collector sports cars on the market right now. People who obsessed over the RX-7 in the 1990s now have enough money to buy them, which means values are going nowhere but up. This one's for sale for a reasonable price on eBay, and you should buy it.

Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.

This 71,000-mile red 1993 RX-7 is listed on eBay Motors with a Buy It Now price of just $17,999. According to the seller, it's never been an accident, and retains matching VIN numbers on all panels. The engine was "refreshed" at 38,000 miles, and modifications include Eibach lowering springs, adjustable shocks, a boost gauge, an air-to-fuel ratio gauge, a cat-back exhaust, cross-drilled brake rotors, and updated turbochargers from a 1995 model-year RX-7. The reason this RX-7 doesn't command the same price as many other clean, running examples is mainly because of its paint.

The previous owner resprayed the car at some point, and whoever performed the respray didn't do a very good job. The seller claims there is overspray on some of the moldings and body edges, along with some slight discoloration.

But because this car isn't showroom-quality perfect, that means you can drive it everyday without having to worry about scuffing it up here and there. Prices for the FD RX-7 aren't going down anytime soon, so as long as you keep the car running and clean, there's a good chance you can make a profit without having to perform a major windows-out respray. Of course, you can go the obsessive route and get the car repainted, and revert all of the modifications back to stock, making it worth a whole lot more. Either way, you're left with a fun driver's car with real value.
