The Foxbody Mustang is starting to regain some of its popularity as an '80s retro muscle car, to the point where people are actually starting to put them on Bring a Trailer. There can only be one Foxbody Mustang to rule them all, however, and this rare Saleen model might be it. You should buy it.

Welcome to You Must Buy, our daily look at the cars you really should be buying instead of that boring commuter sedan.

This is a Ford Mustang Saleen SSC, one of just 161 produced in 1989. Based on a Ford Mustang LX, the SSC (Saleen Super Car) uses a modified version of the car's 5.0-liter V8, as well as Saleen-specific body pieces and interior trim. Upgrades to the powertrain include a larger throttle body, stainless steel headers, and Walker Dynomax mufflers, All 292 horsepower is sent to the rear wheels via a heavy-duty Borg Warner five-speed manual. The brakes have been swapped to discs at all four corners, while the stock suspension has been replaced with adjustable items from Monroe.

All Saleen SSCs came in the same white-on-gray color scheme, accented by yellow and gray stripes on either side, and matching white wheels. The inside is a little different, with the top half of the seats upholstered in white leather and yellow piping, along with yellow and white stripes on the doors. The steering wheel features four awkwardly placed buttons for cruise control functions. The rear seats have been deleted to make room for a roll cage and a sound system.

This particular car looks to be in near-perfect shape, reading just 10,731 miles on the clock. The seller claims the car is totally original, right down to the tires (the original wheels and tires were removed and replaced for preservation purposes). Find it here on eBay Motors with a current bid of $30,300 and six days remaining.
