Yes, this is a kids' movie. No, that doesn't make it weird for us to love it. Pixar has a twenty-year history of making animated movies that speak to all ages. And with this latest Cars trailer, we see that the animation juggernaut hasn't lost its touch one bit.
There's some elaborate plot lines going on here, and they'll be familiar to anyone who's followed motorsports of any sort. Lightning McQueen, once the young hotshot of the Piston Cup, is getting older. He's not as fast as he used to be, and he's being encouraged to cash in on his legend before his advancing age threatens to tarnish his stellar reputation.
Cars 3 hits US theaters on June 16th, and it promises to be chock full of historical references only a die-hard motorsports fan will appreciate. Even if you're decades older than this movie's target audience, we're certain you'll find something to love in it.
