One of the moves the Arizona Cardinals made recently was to re-sign safety Charles Washington, one of their core special teams players. He re-signed on a one-year to play a fourth season for the team.

We now know the details of his contract, from Over the Cap.

We go over the details of his salary, contract details and salary cap implications below.

Charles Washington salary, contract details

Washington will make the league minimum in salary in 2022. That is $1.035 million.

He also is due a $50,500 roster bonus, presumably if he makes the 53-man roster.

He also can earn up to $102,000 in per-game roster bonuses, or $6,000 per game he is active.

In all, it is a one-year deal worth up to more than $1.18 million.

Salary cap implications

Washington’s contract qualifies for the veteran benefit. While he will make up to almost $1.19 million, his salary cap hit will be less.

According to Over the Cap, his cap hit will be $987,500, which save the Cardinals $200,000 in cap space if he makes the team.
