Update 5/16/17: Hennessey just released a video of its HPE1000 Trackhawk trouncing the quarter-mile in 10.7 seconds at 132 mph. While those are some wildly impressive numbers, the real shocker is the car's 0-60 time: Just 2.7 seconds. That's right-this massive family-sized SUV can get to 60 mph quicker than a brand-new M5. The video can be seen below, while the original article, published 4/24/18, can be read below that.

It was just a couple of weeks ago we were telling you about Hennessey's new 1000-horsepower Challenger Demon. Now, the Texas tuner company is back with another high-horsepower FCA product: A Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.

We already reported on the 850-horsepower version of Hennessey's Trackhawk, but this hotter trim is a different beast. It uses a new 4.5-liter supercharger, long-tube headers, high-flow injectors, an upgraded fuel pump, and a high-flow air induction system. Using a Dynojet, the team was able to push 823 horsepower and 718 lb.-ft. of torque to the tires. Factoring in Hennessey's 20-percent drivetrain loss calculation, that's 988 horsepower and 861 lb.-ft. at the crank.

It's worth noting Hennessey disabled the AWD system for its runs, electing to lay down times on a two-wheel dyno with the Trackhawk's rear wheels only. It's unclear whether the super SUV would've laid down the same numbers with torque going to all four wheels considering the discrepancies that come along with switching from AWD to RWD. Either way, it's incredibly cool to watch on the dyno.
