Luftgekuhlt is the most popular Porsche celebration short of Rennsport Reunion. So far there have been nine of them here in the U.S. and a few more in other countries. Organized by American Porsche racer and two-time Le Mans winner Patrick Long and his friend, Southern California creative director Howie Idelson, the gatherings are a celebration of all flat sixes (and fours) air-cooled (thus the name). This means all your favorite 911s and 356s as well as the usual smattering of very cool race cars.

This Luft was held at the former Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, Calif.

"Mare Island has seen it all, from canvas to coal, oil to nuclear power, sailing ships to submarines, and now, Porsche," read the release.
