Next year marks an incredible 70 years since the first production Corvette was revealed. The Corvette name is currently the longest-running nameplate of any new car for sale, so to celebrate, Chevy is releasing a special edition package available for both the base Stingray and the newly revealed Z06.

Simply called the 70th Anniversary Edition package, Corvettes adorned with this kit will be available in just two exclusive colors, White Pearl Metallic tri-coat or Carbon Flash Metallic. There are also specific dark-painted wheels with red accents, red brake calipers, a custom luggage set, and special anniversary badging inside and out. Buyers will also have the option to add racing stripes and have a choice between leather GT2 or Competition Sport seats.

Pricing has yet to be released for the Anniversary package, though it'll only be available on highly equipped Stingray 3LT or 3LZ Z06 trims, so it won't be cheap. Production is set to begin at the same time Z06 production kicks off later this year.

If you're the impatient type, Chevy plans to auction the very first 70th Anniversary Edition Corvette, which also happens to be the first production Z06, at Barrett-Jackson's Scottsdale auction this Saturday, January 29, 2022, for charity. The winner will be very first in line once production begins.

Buyers of the standard Corvette and Z06 will be pleased to know that every 2023 model year Corvette, even those without the Anniversary package, will get a commemorative plaque on the center speaker grille to pay tribute to the long-running nameplate.
