Chevy's Testing Two Different, Huge Wings on the Corvette ZR1

From Road & Track

Earlier this month, we saw a handful of winged, camouflaged Corvettes testing somewhere in Ohio, and we're fairly certain they're prototypes for the upcoming ZR1. Now, the convoy has moved to Michigan where they were again caught testing on the highway. Let's try and make sense of what we've got here.

The most obvious thing is that these Corvettes all have big rear wings instead of the Z06's adjustable rear spoiler. Interestingly though, Chevy is testing two sizes of wing here–a huge one on the first coupe shown in the video, and a smaller one on the convertible and the other coupe.

Perhaps Chevy will offer two different wing sizes with the ZR1, like how it offers different aero kits for the Z06. Or maybe, Chevy hasn't decided to use which wing to use.

The camouflage covers up much of the bodywork, but it appears this prototype has wider fenders like the Z06 and Grand Sport. Unfortunately, it's hard to hear engine sounds in this clip, but since these prototypes were last caught testing with a Jaguar F-Type SVR and a Dodge Challenger Hellcat, both supercharged cars, we're led to believe this one will get a blower as well.

Since these cars are out on the road, it looks like we'll see the production version soon. Use the big wing, Chevy.
