Chris Harris' BBC America Show Won't Have Any New Films

From Road & Track

We, like most of the car internet, were very excited to hear that Chris Harris is coming to BBC America with his own car review show, but we might have let our excitement get carried away. BBC America said last week that Harris' popular YouTube series, Chris Harris on Cars, was coming to its channel on Monday nights this summer, but it meant that quite literally.

Harris' show will consist of repackaged material from his popular YouTube channel, which was confirmed to Road & Track by a BBC America spokesperson. Unfortunately, this means there won't be any new reviews on this show, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

For those who've followed Harris' career closely, this might seem a disappointment, but this show is also a way to introduce him to a new audience. Many people only learned of Harris when he joined Top Gear's big reboot, so this provides a way of showing those people the skills that landed him the TG gig.

Would we love to see Harris get his own proper TV show with new material? Sure, but he's already doing new stuff for TopGear.com, and this BBC America show could help raise his profile. The show premieres on BBC America tonight at 9 p.m. ET, and you can watch the trailer below.
